Overview
About Me
I am a cheerful dude. Always up for an adventure and a look over the next hill. Having worked as a mechanical engineer for a couple of years I left my job and took an MSc in Environmental Engineering with the aim of helping to preserve this amazing planet we live on. Before returning to the real world I will be travelling around NZ, hiking, biking, skiing and having as many adventures as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to meet locals and get a larger travelling experience. I will be hiking the 3000km Te Araroa trail from October 2016 for about 5 months, it would be great to meet up with locals as I pass through various towns.... and save a bit of cash at the same time.
Interests
I was brought up in the English Lake District and dabbled in many 'adventure sports'. I have spent many years identifying myself as a 'climber' rock and ice climbing around the world, although over the last couple of years I have returned to enjoy a wider range of activities; mountain biking, skiing, slacklining, hiking and a tiny bit of surfing. These sports are really just a way to experience new places and new feelings.
Other than sports theres not much better than a cup of tea or a beer, chatting nonsense and putting the world to right. I also enjoy cooking and trying new foods.
