About Me

I'm a recent graduate from University College London, where I studied Electronic & Electrical Engineering, and am starting work as a Research Technologist in September 2017. I enjoy travelling, adventure and meeting new people, and am currently cycling from the UK to northern Italy with my brother (Summer 2017).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some flatmates of mine spent two months travelling around the US last year, relying almost solely on couchsurfing. When they got back to London we hosted two guests from Spain, which was a great experience as we got to share a bit of our lives with them and vice versa. I love meeting new people and exploring other cultures, and couchsurfing is an ideal way to do that whilst travelling as it lets you get a snapshot experience of other people's lives and homes.

Interests

I've always been a very active person, and enjoy playing rugby, lacrosse, and am a keen cyclist at home in London. I love science and technology, and also learning languages (I'm fluent in French and am hoping to start learning some Italian and Spanish soon). I love cooking, especially with/for friends, and I'm always looking to find new recipes to share! When I'm at home chilling, I usually play video games/board games with my housemates, or just go to the pub for a few drinks.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most types of music, but listen to a lot of hiphop when I'm at home, and last year I saw Chance the Rapper performing in London which was the best gig I've ever been to! As a broke student in London, I don't get to go out to the cinema very often, but my all time favourite movies (and books) are The Lord of the Rings, especially the first film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 17, I went on a scientific expedition to the Mexican rainforest in the Yucatan peninsular, to help a group of scientists at Operation Wallacea to conduct data surveys on the local wildlife, in order to help get 'protected status' for that area of the rainforest. 5 years later I met up with one of the scientists and the application that we helped build was successful!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've spent some time working in London as a tutor, mostly in Science and Mathematics, and love being able to share knowledge and experience with other people. I can teach basic English and French, and am always keen to learn bits of other languages too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a keen cook, and would love to share a meal with my hosts as a show of gratitude for hosting!
