About Me
Hey, I'm Ollie! Straight after graduating high school, at 18 years old, I left the safety of home behind, worked at a turtle conservation charity for 3 months (which was incredible), then solo travelled around South-East Asia, Taiwan (where I couch surfed for the first time), parts of South Asia, and finished the trip in Georgia (the country) then Turkey. Along the way I was always searching for wild places and hitchhiking and camping when I could. After the trip ended, I started studying conservation biology which I am loving! Last summer I was in Peru, working at a primate conservation charity in the foothills of the Andes and this summer I'm coming to Canada to work on a turtle research project, not without a little travelling first though! I am arriving into Halifax, Nova Scotia, and from there I will hitchhike 1,500km to Ottawa and hike the Fundy Footpath along the way. I can't wait to meet you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to meet new people, to get an insight into local life and culture and have some amazing experiences!
Interests
My biggest interests are animals, travelling, all sports and outdoor activities, learning, and meeting people. Everything about the natural world fascinates me so I'm always searching for the next scenic spot to pitch a tent or next animal to photograph.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can talk about animals and conservation all day long if you let me go on a tangent!
Learn: I've recently started learning French so it would be great toblearn more if you can speak the language. I also enjoy learning about everything though, that's one of the beautiful things about meeting new people, everyone knows different things!
Share: fun times, good food, stories, different music and a new friendship.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've got some fun and thrilling stories from previous travels and people I met along the way, I'm a positive and outgoing person who's always respectful. I can also teach you about scottish traditions and how to dance at a Scottish Ceilidh! If you have a guitar I also know a song or two 🎸.
