About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently on a big trip round the world; Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, India, Nepal, China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, the USA then home!

ABOUT ME

After finishing university I worked in London for three years and saved up and sold all of my stuff for the trip of a lifetime with my girlfriend, Lois. We began our travels in east Africa in the summer of 2013, visiting Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia. We loved Africa, where we met incredible people, saw animals in the wild we've always dreamed of seeing, and even every bus journey was a pleasure in the spectacular scenery. Now we are in Asia and loving it here too!

PHILOSOPHY

I feel extremely fortunate to be able to travel, and the more people I can meet and interact with from different cultures and walks of life, the more fulfilling the experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are new to couch surfing but have met many interesting couch surfers on our travels who have inspired us to join the community and get closer to local people and culture on our adventure.

Interests

I love sport, particularly football, triathlon, running and cycling. Meeting new people, going to new places, new experiences. At home I am a big Guinness and real ale fan, but since travelling I've learned to adapt!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love a lot of music; reggae, folk, electronic music, guitar bands such as The Smiths, Radiohead, Rolling Stones. Books; Great Expectations, Things Fall Apart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mountain Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda, has to be the most amazing thing I've ever done. Such a thrill, a pleasure, but also slightly terrifying at times to be face to face with huge gorillas. The silverback was calm around us, but the blackback teenager charged at us... an adolescent trying to prove his position we were told!
