Overview
About Me
Dear CSurfers that are coming to SPb. For now on I sleep on the floor and may offer you the same. I can comfortably accommodate one person. Please enjoy simple life and be happy.
Well, hope to think about myself as about a friendly opened person, that loves traveling, learning languages and new people. Being a fan of a healthy lifestyle, I practice Iyengar yoga for 5 years and also Vipassana meditaion, run an online shop of my own, that sells polaroid cameras, films and accessories. Would love to make an instant photo of you and your family while visiting your place, so you could put it right now on a fridge or to a wallet. After finishing my study worked long time in a photography business. By that way got to know most of my current friends from different countries (Germany, Austria, Turkey etc). Two years ago I left office work and started project of my own. That was an uneasy step but now I really enjoy my flexible schedule and opportunity to go somewhere any time you want. Like sports, fitness, hiking, mountain skiing. Bike is my everyday transport although I have a car. My last trip was to India for 3 weeks.
Please read my full profile before requesting. Notice that CS is not only a free sleep site. I would be thankful if you could explain why I should host you when sending a request.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Love to meet new people, share my experience and learn everyday something new. There are still lot's of stereotypes and inner borders in our minds. By traveling, couchsurfing and learning new cultures I feel I can somehow ruin these borders and contribute in building a new better world without wars, hate and misunderstanding.

Music, Movies, and Books
Mostly prefer jazz & rock music, like to attend several days music festivals (when you sleep a couple nights in a tent and enjoy music from early morning to late evening, and also learn about new groups and singers).
Big fan of Miyazaki films
When I think of which book to give as a present for a friend Peter Høeg is normally the best choice. Also really really like Tove Jansson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Organized a small photography exhibition («Sooshka» or The Photo Laundry) 5 years ago that spread all over the country and also world. More than 90 000 people from 50 cities in 9 countries participated in project last 5 years. The concept of the event is quite simple: photographers of all kinds are welcome to show their work in the improvised gallery made of washing lines - and allowed to take home an image that took their fancy in return. Maybe you could attend one of those events while visiting my city. Please add a word "Sooshka" when you make a request.
This year I also did a 10-days meditation course where you meditate sitting still for 11 hours a day, you also don't speak for 10 days. This technique is called Vipassana. After this course I started practicing meditation for 1 or 2 hours a day every single day.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I may teach you a couple of yoga poses, and how to cook such typical Russian meals as blini and borsch. Could show you how to shoot with film or take a polaroid photo of you. May be share some experience on online trade and marketing.
Every person has something to learn from.
