About Me

Omar Rabie is a lawyer with a firm background in corporate law and extensive experience in social entrepreneurship projects. He has been providing legal advice to social enterprises, start-ups, and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Rabie has over five years of professional experience in social innovation and entrepreneurship in Egypt and is working towards a career to promote the development of building up the capacities of enterprises and startups in the MENA region. Mr. Rabie currently works on establishing new business incubators and supporting the existing ones under USAID’s Strengthening Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development Project in Egypt.
Mr. Rabie worked as Corporate Lawyer at Hegazy and Partners Law Firm in Cooperation with Crowell and Moring. Prior to that he worked as an Account Manager at Nahdet El Mahrousa (NM), supporting early stage social enterprises, turning their ideas into operating social businesses.

Mr. Rabie is also a Senior Program Manager at Ana Masry Foundation and an active member of Green Arm. He worked as a Communication and Social Mobilization Fellow at UNAIDS Egypt Office as part of his Lazord fellowship at the Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement at the American University in Cairo.

Mr. Rabie earned his Bachelor’s of Law from Cairo University and is a M.Sc. candidate in Euro-Mediterranean studies at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, and a Diploma in Social Innovation Management from the UPeace Center for Executive Education in Costa Rica.

In April 2016, Mr. Rabie earned his post-graduate certificate in Social Innovation Management from the Amani Institute in Nairobi, Kenya, where he also spent his Legal Apprenticeship at IKM Advocates, DLA Piper Africa.
