About Me

Hi,
I'm a 23 year old computer Lab Teacher at an elementary school in Oakland. Currently, I'm in China en route to Hong Kong, and ultimately heading to India November 10th (for Diwali)

Being that Mother is from Colombia and father is from Pakistan I really love difference and the bringing together of unlike things! Bring on the chaos.

I'm also recently engaged! I think.. ha..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because there's no better experience than meeting new people and discovering new things about ourselves and others. In the process of doing so we learn how to love ourselves and others far better. I also would be ecstatic to find musicians willing to show me around the music scene, or even better, Jam with!

Interests

Music. I play drums, and doodle on bass/piano. I also enjoy going outdoors, drawing cooking, eating, and unabashedly loving.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of Jazz, Funk, Blues, and R&B, but I enjoy all styles. It's best to mention what I'm currently listening to, watching, and reading.

Music: Haitus Kaiyote, Snarky Puppy, James Blake, Chicano Batman, Odesza

Movies: I just re watched The Darjeeling Limited. ( And Probably will again)

Books: Thus Spoke Zarathustra, The Alchemist

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This July I joined a country band, as a drummer for hire, and toured across the United States for two weeks. This was my first time traveling outside of California within the united states!

Teach, Learn, Share

I absolutely love stimulating conversations. I shared many late nights with friends and strangers, exchanging stories and ideas that have changed my life. Also, whatever knowledge I've acquired in my past jobs as a mechanic, teaching and working at restaurants I'm willing to share. This includes the languages I speak and music.
I also really enjoy cooking so anything involved in the kitchen is welcomed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully I can share my experiences of growing up in a multicultural household, skills etc. Some people say I'm not too bad in the kitchen I either.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Colombia, England, Mexico, Pakistan

Countries I’ve Lived In
