Originally from Libya but have been living in Ireland for the past 24 years. One of the most confusing questions I get is 'Where are you from?' My answer, 'My heart is Libyan but my mind is Irish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel, I want discover what life's like from a local perspective. By doing that it gives you a unique outlook on the destination. Take Ibn Battuta, the 14th Century explorer who travelled from Morocco to China. He would stay with the locals at whatever city he stopped at and what he learned and experienced from the locals is what made his travels well known.

Interests

I'm an avid swimmer. I would go swimming most mornings before work. I think I'm addicted to the endorphins. I'm also a fond reader of various genre's including biographies and Islamic history in Europe.
