Hey Everyone who I may or may not meet. I'm a student at Brandeis University, which is about 7 miles from downtown Boston. I always love meeting new people, except when it interferes with my exam schedule. I'm Indian by ethnicity but have lived in America for my whole life so the most Indian part of me is my Hindu-ness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2014 I had the pleasure of studying abroad in Copenhagen, where I traveled to a whole bunch of places for vacation. While traveling to Istanbul, I met a friend in a hostel that used couch surfing an he promptly introduced me to its advantages. I didn't sign up til' now because I wasn't planning on traveling very often. But now my outlook has changed since I want to get out of my normal routine and try something new.

Interests

Sounds cliche, but I like to do a lot of things. Whether sitting and just chit-chatting with someone over tea or some beer, going out to party, and, my favorite, doing outdoor activities like kayaking and hiking, I'm always down to chill. DTC.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hard to say what my favorite movie was. My favorite book is definitely Harun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie. To be honest, I haven't read real literature in a long time, but I do find it very interesting. That being said, though, I am an avid fan of fantasy and fiction novels.

I usually listen to either indian classical or rock and roll, but I really like anything in between. There is very few types of music I don't like. What I DONT like is hood rap and music that is top40. Some top 40 is good, but most I just regard as garbage. Sorry, doesn't mean we can't be friends :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Nevada Conservation Corps. I worked in a trail crew in various locations across Nevada, camping/working in wilderness areas for 8 days at a time. totally ask me about it because it was a life changing experience for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you ask me about Hinduism, climate change/environmental issues, a long discussion (or me talking endlessly) will ensue. I like to learn about anything to be honest. Knowledge is sacred yo. But culture, history and social issues are my favorite.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a really vibrant person that is well cultured and traveled. I'm really respectful of people and their boundaries and the most I will ever expect is a place to lay my head down for the night. Not to say, that is all I want, though. I am quite the socialite.
