About Me

Traveling is a really top priority for me. Been living & working & even hosting surfers in Sydney, California, New York and London. If we count strictly touristic trips, I was, well... in a lot of places :)

I'm Israeli, yes, but also a devout Atheist. I don't deny my Jewish blood-line, but that's really all it is. A blood-line. And a craving for falafel, if you must.

My atheism has a nice synergy with my humanism, my TRUE love of science and my fairly left-wing world-view. Some people might choose to flatten these views to 'Pro Palastinian'. That leaves very little room for nuance and boy, is there a lot of nuance!

I'm a Scientist at heart. That means I care about the truth. I strive for critical thinking and I enjoy coming up with experiments. While a scientist at heart, I'm actually an engineer by trade. I got a BSc in physics and another one in Electric Engineering from Technion (Israeli MIT, basically).

Very recently I founded this startup company and... before you know it I had to move to New York to support the activity here! No better way to experience a new city than with hyper-active couch surfers who want to explore :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Do you know how your personality metamorphosizes when you travel? It's so easy to connect with the locals or fellow travelers and make new friends. I can just invite myself to another group's dinner or have the deepest talk of my life with someone I just met.
Hosting couch surfers brings some of that magic back home, to fuck up my routine. In a good way.

Interests

I've shared a lot on the 'about me' section already, but really I'm all about experiencing new things and meeting cool people. I enjoy talking about the politics and history of your country and mine, as well as economics, the environment, religion, science and critical thinking. Preferably over a drink or twelve.
I'm very much into music and I always carry some sort of speaker when I travel. I dance anything from Salsa and Swing to EDM raves. Beaches are awesome, especially if you add a book and Israeli 'Matkot' (Wierd sport. Don't ask).

Music, Movies, and Books

I Listen to lots of Frank Zappa, Radiohead, and tons of Classic/Progressive rock.
I read a ton, especially non-fiction, but the absolute most influential book for me was The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins. I actually even met the guy, although I must say he wasn't too nice :/

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Burning man!

Teach, Learn, Share

In summer time I'll teach you how to make the best iced coffee in the world. In winter time, if you're lucky, you'll get to have my special carrot soup, or the even-more-special peanut-butter-chocolate-chip cookies.
