About Me
Hello! My name is Jun. I live in the culturally rich and historic city of Kyoto, but starting in August 2024, I will be traveling around Southeast Asia. While I've enjoyed sharing Japanese culture with many travelers here in Kyoto, I’m excited to now explore new cultures myself and broaden my own horizons as a traveler.
Through Couchsurfing, I've had countless meaningful encounters. As a host, I've come to understand how powerful the connections formed across different cultures can be. For example, when I hosted a guest from France, we shared a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, and in that exchange, we developed a deep bond through mutual cultural understanding. These experiences have helped me grow as a person.
As a digital nomad, I’ve traveled across Europe and Asia, visiting places like India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Every place has given me new perspectives through the beauty of its landscapes and the people I've met. Particularly, my experiences backpacking as a teenager and living in Cambodia have opened my mind and shaped my philosophy on how to enjoy life and the world.
In my daily life, tea and Buddhism—especially Zen—play central roles. Through these practices, I engage in self-reflection and pursue inner growth. Professionally, I support various business startups using IT and work to spread Japanese culture globally. These activities have not only allowed me to connect with other cultures but also deepened my understanding of my own roots.
Outside of work, I enjoy baseball, martial arts, digital music production (DTM), photography, and meditation. These hobbies bring balance and joy to my life.
I truly believe that the most valuable thing in life is building genuine connections through new experiences. Couchsurfing is an amazing way for me to share my world with others, learn from them, and create meaningful relationships. If we have the chance to meet, I would love to host a simple tea gathering where we can talk about Zen and tea culture. I’m also excited to hear about your culture and worldview.
I always carry a tea set with me, so I look forward to sharing a warm conversation over a cup of tea with you!
