Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people and show around the place I live in and the thing I like about it.

I don't get to travel a lot, but when I do I'd rather spend time with a local or resident rather than be alone in a hostal or hotel room, which will enable me to get to know the place and its people better.

Interests

I'm a marine biologist, but my profesional interests led me to pursue a career in coastal management. I think that the unveiling of human-nature interactions is more urgent than nature-alone oriented research, since the human species is the one causing the actual environmental crisis.

That being said, I love nature and all activities related to it, so I'd rather go hiking or swimming somewhere than staying indoors. That doesn´t mean I don't like museums, cinema or theater, which I absolutely love. And there´s always something about travelling, the sense of a place and its people...

I'm a rock&roll fan, from old rockabilly and blues to progressive and alternative (some of my favourite bands are Radiohead and Tool). I also enjoy chill-out, ambientrance, film scores and traditional music, as well as some classical now and then.

I like author cinema, like Christopher Nolan, Darren Arnofsky, Cohen Bros., Terry Gilliam, David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino, everything Andy Kauffman writes, Danny Boyle, etc...

I'm a sci-fi & Fantasy geek, so I'm into the Lord of the Rings and Isaac Asimov; last I read was the 'Song of Ice & Fire' by GRR Martin. I also like spanish authors, like Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende, José Saramago, Xavier Velasco, Jorge Ibargûengoitia, etc.

I also love comics. manga and anime.
