About Me
Hello world!
My name is Ondřej, and I bet you can't pronounce it properly. But no worries, Czech names are silly. Anyways, as suggested by the name, I am from the Czech Republic. Let me know if you ever want to visit, I will recommend and assist with everything, gladly.
UPDATE: Starting October 2022, I'm able to host you in Prague. However, as I don't want to pay for the CS subscription when not using the service, I'll leave my phone number here. Let me know via WhatsApp: 00420 603 871 130.
Currently, I'm transitioning from my undergraduate studies of Psychology and Linguistics in the UK to my postgraduate studies of Philosophy in Prague. Academy wise, I'm very much into the enactivist view of psychology stemming from phenomenological philosophy. I would love to discuss those!
I consider myself quite a friendly fella, though I am kind of an introvert I guess. Thus if you ever visit me, I will gladly go out with ya and grab a... coffee in a nice café, play some board games, discuss science, philosophy or politics, rather than partying in a nightclub. I've got absolutely nothing against an evening beer and live music though. I just dislike overt drinking and bad nightclub music. Also, I am really keen on hiking. I mean, I love mountains. So showing you local forests and mountains is an option as well.
It is hard to describe oneself with simple words. So, instead of continuing with this "About me" section, I will mention two books that have lately influenced my thoughts and ideas:
The Will to Meaning, by Viktor E. Frankl
Siddhártha, by Herman Hesse
(as of 2022, these books are not that essential anymore, but I won't deny their importance)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I created this account on the 17th of December 2017, i.e. on my 18th birthdays. That's how much I was looking forward to it!
Why? Because the best thing one can experience abroad are people and the way they see the world through their prisims, I believe. And that's exactly what is the philosophy behind Couchsurfing.
(also I am just a student and I want to save some money)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One day I walked 40 kilometres of Vía de la Plata with 20 kg backpack, shitty shoes and without a piece of food.
I thought it would be my last day.
Teach, Learn, Share
From bed to leaving the house in the morning under 4 minutes and yet missing the morning train. Juggling with 3 balls. Maybe some cooking. Language a bit. And anything related to my studies.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Everything my young self knows, everything I can.
I don't mind discussing all kind of topics, I don't insist on avoiding politics - if you want to experience an insight of an Eastern European, I am here for you.
