My name is Ondrej, I am 32 years old guy from Czech Republic. I spent more than ten years travelling, I studied in Prague, got my PhD at the Glasgow University in Scotland, I worked in Finland and Canada, travelled through most of Europe and spend a good deal of time in India.

I am laid-back and open-minded, no matter where and when I am. I am enthusiastic about travelling and meeting new people. I love hiking, getting to know new things and exploring new places.

I am very low maintenance, I slept at the streets in India, I survived a hiking trip in Georgia during the war with Russia and I am generally grateful for any and all little things life brings to me.

I need literally nothing more than a place on the floor where can I sleep overnight in my sleeping bag :)

My life credo is "Carpe Diem" - enjoy every day all day and always stay positive:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I believe people should travel as much as possible, to get to know new things, new places, new cultures. This changes your view of life big time. Travelling brings people together, broadens your horizon of seeing things and opens your mind.

When you travel, you need to crash somewhere every now and then. Not everyone can afford expensive hotels and hostels. That is why I am on couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went hiking to Georgia and while being there in the mountains bordering Russia, the infamous short Russian-Georgian war broke out. Being in the middle was a hell of an experience, I got out unharmed but looking back... I still wonder... what the hell was that :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I was teaching big deal while being a PhD student at the university. Chemistry of all kinds. I can talk about sciences for hours. I usually do no that thought, I'm afraid of boring people to death ;)
