Overview
About Me
I'm a relaxed, adventurous, curious, fun guy who values friendships and making connections with new people especially when traveling. I love the Pacific Northwest and welcome visitors who want to experience it.
I work as an engineer, but it's not really my passion...so I'd say I'm searching for what's next. I've directed 9 short films to feed my creative side...haven't made a film in awhile, but plan to explore that hobby again soon.
I volunteer as an instructor for a local mountaineering club, and I get out into the amazing Cascade Mountains as often as I can to clear my mind and enjoy the company of good friends.
I want to travel more...only by seeing the world and meeting people, can we really understand it.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming..."Wow, what a trip!" --author unknown
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
To be honest, I've found searching for a host while traveling can be time consuming, so in recent years I've used couchsurfing to meet fellow travelers to share the journey and share costs. Surfing and hosting has been a great experience. When I can host, I prefer travelers from other countries versus fellow Americans.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met many couchsurfers for good conversations and drinks during my travels. I was hosted in Bratislava, Budapest, Turkey, Scotland, Ireland...and have hosted several times in Seattle. CSurfers are usually like me, open-minding, fun, travel thrifty, and always up for trying something new.
Interests
Travel, mountaineering, martial arts, karaoke, mountain biking, filmmaking, caving, climbing, tea(not coffee), cats, 80's rock, and restoring my first home. I enjoy good conversations about life, love, film, politics, just about anything as long as everyone is open minded.

Music, Movies, and Books
I usually see a movie each week. Recent films I've enjoyed: Rocketman, Yesterday, IT, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. My favorite (comfort food) classiscs: Goonies, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The view from the top of Mount Rainer. The repelled and climbed out of the 510' Ellison's pit cave in Alabama. Hearing everyone at Oktoberfest in Munich sing John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads". Sailboating 3 days in south Turkey. Sitting at the mouth of a Guatemalan cave as millions of bats whooshed past into the evening sky. Three days of motor scooting in Northern Vietnam.
