About Me

I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica and currently reside in Oakland Park, Florida. I'm a gay male but am only referencing this because I do not tolerate or entertain homophobes of any kind. I also do not use CS as a dating or hookup app. I'm returning to CS after an extended hiatus. I've hosted scores of travelers from around the world through CS and also couchsurfed with a few awesome CSers. So, in a way, I'm starting over from scratch but totally ok with it, lol. I love hosting folks but haven't been very impressed by the mentality of some travelers who only seem interested in taking without giving anything back. With that being said, I'm an extremely kind and considerate person and am always willing to open up my home or devote my time to showing someone around my wonderful city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm back on CS because I really miss connecting with folks. I won't be hosting as much I did before, but I will do so on occasion when I have time and availability. I also intend to begin traveling a lot more and would love to meet locals to hang out with in the cities that I visit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently started a nonprofit for youth in underserved communities called the Jacqueline R. Satchell Foundation (or JRS Foundation for short). It's in memory of my late sister, Dr. Jacqueline Satchell, who passed away in 2020. We just awarded our 1st high school scholarship and I'm super excited for all the other amazing things we intend to accomplish.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always eager to learn from others, teach anyone the knowledge I've gathered over the years and share my experiences with anyone who cares to listen. As someone who has hosted many travelers on the platform, I can tell you what things most hosts appreciate and what will earn you a rejection faster than you can send a request. I'm always open to learning about other cultures and seeing the world through someone else's eyes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Any host who is gracious enough to open their home to me can expect the same in return. I enjoy hosting and am always happy to show you around my awesome city.
