About Me
CURRENT MISSION
At this point in my life my goal is to help my half grown kids find their way to independance.
ABOUT ME
I am generally too busy, suffer from lack of sleep and unable to help any of my children with their math homework.
I went to UCR where I majored in Anthropology. Realizing I wasn't interested in pursuing a PhD in the field, I jumped on the MBA wagon. I went to USC and lived in the LA/Venice/MDR for the next 4 years. I worked in internal audit at USC and McDonnell Douglas for several years, and regardless of what you may think, it is a fun job; project oriented, lots of variety.
I got laid off in 1992 when Katie was 20 months old. We decided that I would become a stay-at-home mom and had 2 more children. I was VERY busy in that role. For the next 10 years I was co-op preschool president, team mom, room mom, Brownie and Cub scout leader, etc, in short I became my mom. Eventually the economy forced me back into the workforce. I was a part-time tax accountant for 4 years before I went to work for my co-den leader in 2006.
I have been married to Ken for 29 years. He is a man who still sees me as a 19 year old wild thing and continues to love me inspite of the fact that I don't resemble that girl at all. We have made 3 very beautiful children who continue to baffle, amaze and frustrate us. Katie just graduated from UC Santa Cruz and is spent her junior year in Bordeaux France. She was and RA her sophomore year and had to learn to balance the responsibilities of her job with the school and friendships that were unreasonably threatend by her position. She was an RA again her senior year but she was in the International Living Center and it is a very wonderful experience. Michael just graduated from high school and was a varsity waterpolo player. He is artistic, a japanophile, and no longer likes MMORPGames like WOW. He prefers Magic and D & D now. He was active in his schools Improv Club and is amazingly good at it. He is attending Golden West Junior College. Alex is a Junior at HBHS. He plays both high school and club water polo, and high school and club volleyball. For the last 2 years he made the USA Watrer Polo Youth National team. He has the best stats in Orange County. He also won gold medals at the US Vollybal Junior Nationals each of the last two summers. This week he is 6'6". He plays way too much Call of Duty, Assasins Creed, MineCraft, and Halo (There was a time I swore MY KIDS would never play this stuff).
I work full time but my office is only 5 minutes from home which is very convenient with the boys' schedules. I work for a mail house. We provide lettershop and fulfillment services to over 500 customers in a variety of industries. We have a very strong reputation for excellent service on the political mail market. I currently run the the financial side of the business but we are small and I wear a lot of hats; marketing, sales, customer service and HR.
I am lucky to live less than a mile from the beach. I can hear the waves at night. The weather is the best on the planet, we don't have or need air conditioning and I can wear sandals year round. We have good schools and a safe community. I am blessed.
