ABOUT ME

I grew up in the old old lands of Western Anatolia. Until six I was in the hands of my grandma in a small town called Tire. I've started school in Izmir and until 2008 I've lived there. After that I moved to the rainy green & red city of Hamburg in northern Germany to educate myself even more as if all the stuff before that was not enough. I am now back in my home country for PhD. Unfortunately this time in Istanbul.

Lots of people (including my Mom) think that I'm extremely lazy, some think that I'm hard-working and some think that I'm really smart. I agree to the first :) For the latter two I would say I'm just like everyone else.

I have hosted people from Spain, Latvia, Singapore, France and USA so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got to know about this project in year 2007 while we were doing a road-trip in Finnish Lapland. Since then I hosted different people from various countries.

Movies: Leon, EuroTrip, Pianist, Gegen die Wand, Im Juli, Requiem for a Dream
Music: well, whatever sounds good to my ear. From oriental melodies of Anatolia and Middle-East to Progressive Trance.
Books: I like easy-to-read adventure books -I've read 15+ Clive Cussler books. I like books with historical theme -such as Amin Maalouf's works. Lately I have been reading some popular philosopy -like Alain de Botton and Julian Baggini.

Well, I can not teach you anything I guess -I can only discuss about topics more of less familiar to me like Biotech (my educational background) or stuff related to my home country and city (Turkey - political, sociological, cultural, touristic etc.) :)
Well, let us have a beer or two together and I will an opinion about EVERYTHING. :)
