关于我

CURRENT MISSION

Looking to connect with people in Quito, Ecuador for a couch to sleep on in September.

ABOUT ME

I'm 28, a full time student and work 20 hours a week as well. I am studying sustainability and would like to get into natural resources management or something of that nature. I think everyone needs to educate themselves more on global warming and what we can all do to make a difference. I am a hard working person who seems to be addicted to my academics and work right now, which is good because it took me forever to dial in what it is I am passionate about, and now the fire is wild and strong. I love dancing under the stars, experiencing amazing natural landscapes, warm hugs, and I love to laugh! Laughing is the best medicine. I often find myself laughing in the midst of awkward silences and all of the most inappropriate moments, but I think it's a gift!

兴趣

I spend a lot of my time reading the latest articles and blogs about sustainable development around the globe, art, music, and travel. I love the community around dance culture. I love house music and the upbeat, high vibe, big smiles, and feet groovin' sounds it brings. Ecstatic dance gatherings always bring joy into my day. I love yoga and meditation when I have the time. Lately school has been my main priority and with 17 units it's hard to do much else. I volunteer in my off time, for environmental non-profit fundraisers, community events like the Lane County Peace Symposium, and for the Circle of Children Eco-village school every now and again. I love feeling like I am apart of something bigger than myself, it keeps me focused on the macrocosm, instead of getting hung up on my own inner microcosm. The world is so much bigger than just ourselves.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The first things that come to mind are

1) Sitting on a mesa in Utah at Arches National Park. I was on a cross country road trip with 2 of my best girlfriends and we were reading out loud to each other from our favorite book "Oneness" that always had the right words at the perfect time, no matter what page you opened it to, it was channeled magic. We were sitting on that mesa and you could see for miles and miles, with these ancient rock formations scattered about on the horizon burning with these amazing rusty oranges and pale adobe shades with aged strata lines cutting through them. I had never been able to see for far, so long, so wide, and the world felt limitless, like I was that desert, I was that big endless sky, and as we read from Oneness, we cried in gratitude for the beauty of that moment.

2) Once upon a time in a town called Black Rock City, Nevada, I was told right before dawn, that the Pope had changed Roman Catholic doctrine to say that Catholics could believe in aliens underneath the eyes of God, and that they were not privy to original sin. I was in a separate state all my own in that moment, sharing a special journey with my best friend Kellie Peach, and she and I took a bike ride far out into the desert where there were no people, where you could sit on the ground and be at eye level with horizon and see starts straight ahead, and as I felt my feet grounded on the earthen, dry and dusty floor below me, I looked up to the brightening dawn sky while the stars still dimly gleamed over head, and I could feel that we earthlings really aren't alone in this giant Universe, and I felt this cosmic connection with something I haven't seen, but felt like I knew was there. When I got home I did some research and found out this was true I actually found a youtube interview with the Pope himself saying it on film.... wow! P.S. I am not Catholic...
