My stage name is Oogie_Push and I prefer to go by Oogie. But for legal identification purposes I'm using Delinda on my profile. But you can call me Oogie, like "Boogie Oogie."

I work as an actor on stages around the Twin Cities. I also work as a production assistant on local commercial sets and indie films. I'm a gig worker, so when I'm not acting or PA'ing, I do storytelling events, or emcee/host events. I used to work on a couple of organic farms, tried landscaping one summer, (not my thing) did Admin assistant work for about 15 years, and I found that working in an office environment kills my spirit. It's really since 2020 that I focused more on creative works. I also started producing and directing (shooting and editing) short documentaries and content for social media. I just like making cool stuff.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's been several years since I couch-surfed, sometimes it's great, sometimes the host gets in a fight with their roommate and gets arrested. But I'm always up for new experiences. I don't have any references because it's been over a decade since I was last on here and I lost my other profiIe.
But, I love traveling and meeting new people.
Currently I'm off to different film festivals for my first documentary Tama Flint: A Meskwaki Tradition. There are a few festivals that have accepted it and travel is out of pocket. Some of these hotel prices are outrageous and as the cost of everything goes up, I don't want to be limited to where I can go due to finances. So here I am back on the site to see if anyone is willing to host.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in a tent in Haines Alaska for the summer. I had the perfect view of an ocean inlet where whale pods passed through, with a backdrop of snowcapped mountains. Talk about peaceful. I worked as a cashier in a local sporting goods store during the day and spent the rest of the evening hiking in the mountains or sitting on the beach. It was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a Meskwaki twine bag weaver, I love singing to the water and sharing Dorene Day's Water Song with people. I have a Bachelor's in American Indian Studies so I'm usually educating people on Native history. I like sharing my culture and the stories I've learned from visiting with other Tribal Nations and communities across the country.
I'm also interested in hearing about your adventures, about your culture, and what you've learned just by being.
