Sobre mí

I've heard many interesting ways to describe myself, not all of which I agree with, but let's go with what I've got.

I'm hyperactive. I've got enough energy to power a small-scale nuclear facility and when I get excited about a story it might edge into what is sometimes known as hysteria.
I like my own voice. Apparently, according to other people, who think I never shut up. Which is obviously not true, I'm just easily excitable and I like stories.
I'm a writer. I do Creative Writing at university (haha, who needs a job) and I enjoy writing, reading, researching, everything that comes with deciding you have a story to tell. I'm a really bad poet, though. The best decision of my life was moving from Finland to England to study a field I love.
I'm also a carpenter, because it's cool, so in addition to traditional high school/college/sixth form/whatever you call education at approximately 16-18 years of age, I also got a professional qualification.
I play a lot of sports. A lot. More than I go to class, actually. I play both badminton and baseball, plus casual football and climbing, and when I can be asked I run. I wouldn't count club dancing a sport really, but let's list that anyway.
I don't have a drinking problem, myself and drinking get along very well, thank you. No more about that.
I'm creative, probably a bit crazy, but all in all I mean well. Usually. I've gotten mixed reception with that one.

The most important thing is, getting to know me is rarely ever boring.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I enjoy adventures.

To me, travelling is exhilarating, horizon-widening, sometimes scary, but all in all it's a passion. It's a dream. To be able to travel and explore, I want nothing more. You can find adventures at the local mall, the nearby forest, the next town over, but the best kind are found abroad.
I see couchsurfing as a different kind of approach to travelling, to something I hold dear. You can stay at a hostel, talk to the staff and chat to locals to learn as much as you can of a new country and their culture. But once you've done that enough times, it's something different to have the opportunity to stay at a local's house and engage with a culture directly. It's also a brilliant way to meet interesting new people and make friends all over the globe.

I'm all about new experiences. And couchsurfing is just that, both for a host and a guest.

Música, películas y libros

I'm an omnivore when it comes to music and movies. My music taste has been described as bad and weird, but that's usually when drunk me is given the responsibility to put on music at 3am. I listen to pretty much everything, with the exception of heavy metal, but if I really have to pick, anything by Kodaline is closest to my heart.

As for movies, the ones I haven't seen are probably on my to-watch list. My favourites have spies, thieves or cons, or even better, all of the above. On the TV series side, White Collar, Fresh Off the Boat and Game of Thrones take my top 3.

Books are the most precious material thing in my life. If I got a cut, I would bleed fantasy and sci-fi cliches. Even if you include books I've read for my course, 9/10 books I've read are fantasy or sci-fi. Terry Pratchett is my all time idol and number one. End of.

Algo increíble que he hecho

The one that in my books takes the top is moving alone to a country I've never been in to study a course that relies heavily upon my ability to use a language that is not my first.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach bad jokes, how to not take yourself seriously and how to drink yourself under the table.

I'm open for new experiences and I want to learn everything I can, about everything.
