I've decided to take a gap year after working and studying! Looking forward to meeting new people and expanding my horizons :)

ABOUT ME

Up until recently, I've been working in Marketing and Communications for a boutique hospitality and training firm in beautiful Brisbane. I enjoy learning new things and improving my writing, and travelling is a great way to do this! I know a smattering of French, but haven't had a lot of time to study another language. Other than that, I'm friendly and easy-going.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had a few couch surfers stay with me and they have all been kind, wonderful and interesting people. I look forward to giving this a go for myself :)

Interests

So many things! I love dancing and cooking when I get a moment (sometimes at the same time!). Lately, I've been in a few burlesque performances (as an amateur!) which is both thrilling and scary! I've also been brushing up on my latin dancing. Since I love RPG games, I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons with like-minded friends and have discovered how awesome it is (best played with great company and good beer!)
While creative writing will always be my first love, I've been writing professionally (journalistic) for the last 2.5 years and hope to keep improving through my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'd say I like a broad range of genres - but I can't watch horror movies (unless it's satire) because I'm a wuss and can't deal with the suspenseful music! My favourite genre in books is fantasy - but I'll read any book that sounds interesting.

Seeing the Pyrenees mountains shrouded in mist just after dawn - so beautiful!

I love hearing travel stories and other people's cultural experiences. I'm keen to pick up another language and I've also got a solid background in editing if you ever want a second option.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you need help around the house, I can help cook and clean! I'm very respectful of other peoples' space.
I also have a great repertoire of goofy stories and puns!
