About Me
In more than 99% of cases, you can't choose what happens, but you can always choose the way you respond to what happens.
If you’re requesting and you’re the type of person who only surfs and (almost) never hosts, it’s quite unlikely I will accept your request.
Hey there!
I'm someone whose hobbies are ever changing, but one of the oldest ones is programming. Luckily, I was able to find both a job and still have enough passion left for a few side projects. In 2023 I got myself a Raspberry Pi and I'm planning on tinkering with it and make some useful apps for myself.
I enjoy bird watching. I have a nearby park and can always find different birds flying around it and singing. Started at the beginning of 2023 and after a few months I could recognise the majority of birds by just sound.
I enjoy going hiking to the mountains in Romania. I go every year to a few places. Most recently I was at Lespezi at over 2500m during the winter. I saw some amazing cloud formations, snow patterns and had an awesome crew to keep me company.
I enjoy partying. Most often go to the two yearly festivals that happen near my area: Untold and Electric Castle. Would also like to go abroad to some other festival, but haven't had the chance to do so. Also enjoy the occasional night out clubbing or house party.
I'm interested in the world of dreams. Unfortunately, I've never really had a good memory of my dreams upon waking up. I'm still trying to figure out how to be more consistent with my dream recall. I've had a few lucid dreams at this point and I absolute loved every one of them.
I started to roller skate. I have a roller skating track close to where I live and it's been a pleasure learning. So far, I've gotten to the point where I can jump, but other than that it feels like I've reached a stagnation point. Although, I recognise that there's still many basics I need to work on.
I was visiting some of my girlfriend's friends and their kids had a Rubik's cube. I didn't think too much of it at the time, but after a few days I was like "Hey, you know what? I should learn how to do it too!". Over the next two months, I got myself 2 cubes. My most recent one is a GAN 11 M Pro and I absolutely love it! I'm hoping to get to less than 30s by the end of the year. Let's see what happens :)
I also started learning Spanish, since I want to go to Tenerife again around New Year's and I'm hoping to learn enough of it to get by around there, especially since the last time I visited, I didn't encounter too many people that knew English haha.
As I'm learning Spanish, whenever I'm learning something that can be visualised, like an apple, a car, an elephant, I've also started drawing these things. Not sure how far I'll take my drawing, but it's been a nice addition to my collection of hobbies.
I started getting into spirituality. For those that think this is the same or anything close to religion, watch youtube.com/watch?v=76UuTIbW9W0
Am currently meditating for an hour every morning, keeping a journal for both daily activities as well as self development progress, doing some concentration / focusing sessions, eating in silence with eyes closed, working daily on increasing consciousness. I'm planning to go to a Vipassana retreat in 2024.
Some older hobbies that I'm not into that much anymore, but might pick up back in the future:
- gaming (stuff like WoW, LoL, CS1.6, Witcher 3, Dark Souls, GTA, AC, etc)
- following CS:GO esports (even went to some events)
- traveling (usually capital city breaks)
- swimming
- learning Japanese
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm the kind of person that will get along with anyone and I'm always curious about other people's life story. Even people that think they're not interesting, I will find the interesting part about them.
Interests
My interest vary throughout the year. I might do more indoor stuff when it’s cold, like gaming, exercising, meditation, language learning and then switch to partying, traveling, swimming when the warm weather comes around.
- music festivals
- dancing
- chocolate
- gaming
- esports
- memes
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm currently testing my limits in terms of what music I can listen to. So far, I've tried:
- Screamo
- Death Metal
- Techno
- Mumble rap
- Mongolian throat singing
- Country
- Dubstep
There isn't really a genre that I dislike, but I'm still having a hard time opening up to remixes where they make the voice really high-pitch and usually the background sound is also super fast.
My favorite is trance and has been for a while. And Nifra is my queen.
Movies don't watch that much anymore. Maybe like 1 every year. Usually only watch highly rated movies.
I’ve started to read some books on different asoects of spirituality.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked 100km in a day, just to see if I could do it haha
