About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Survival. Not obeying others. Consuming beer at least 365 days a year. Having fun.

ABOUT ME

Long story short, I love to have people around, talk, drink, listen to music, party, cook, etc. I love football so much, if you end up staying at my place at the weekend and my team (Genclerbirligi) has a home game, be sure you will end up in the stadium with me.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone should be able to decide upon whatever they do without any pressure. I do not like being employed by other people. It is no good when you have to listen to others in your field of expertise. Unfortunately we all need money to survive.

Destroy the system. Yes we can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Football connects people. When I travelled to Blackburn for my team's UEFA Cup game in 2003, I stayed at a fan's house. It was an amazing experience. Despite staying only for a single night, I got to see many places, had loads of beer, and made many friends.

I welcomed a fellow PhD candidate from the States to stay a couple of days at my place. It was a good cultural exchange as nowadays there's much prejudice against Americans in the world. After my girlfriend learned she stayed at my place, she was furious so the girlfriend had to go hahah.

My record is having 8 stay for 5 days. 7 of them were Americans, a metal band on their world tour. One was a Turkish reporter following them on the 3 concerts they gave in Turkey.

Interests

Football, beer, music, beer, partying, cooking for others (worked as a chef in a restaurant once upon a time), beer, and... more beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I quit reading long time ago, but I like to write though. Especially articles about sports (many got published).

Music. Metal mainly. Have a huge archive of many genres. My choice totally depends on my mood.

Cinema. European, especially English. But it all began with Star Wars.
