About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live with authenticity, and find our place to dig in on this planet.

ABOUT ME

We met in 2007 at a selection camp for a global expedition and after soon becoming close friends and traveling together, we married in 2009. Adventure, music, and working on the land growing food are vital parts of our lives and continue to guide us on our travels.

Amy: Born in Colorado, raised in Prince Edward Island (Canada), calls wilderness of British Columbia home.

Eric: Born in Prince George (Canada), raised in Gibsons, BC.

PHILOSOPHY

If it isn't too cheesy to use quotes:

"If the only prayer you ever say in your whole life is 'thank you,' that would suffice."
Meister Ekhart

“Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the question themselves, as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, some day far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”
Rainer Maria Rilke

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have CS through South America and hosted unofficially in Canada and Arizona.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Through the official community itself, a handful of experiences, but unofficially couch surfing has played a role in some of our greatest traveling experiences.

Once, we were doing a fundraiser that involved walking a couple hundred miles across rural maritime Canada... pulling a tire. Long story short, there weren't many places to stay, however every night we'd just knock on someone's door near where we intended to stop and every single time people would welcome us into their homes, share their food, stories, and even music when the opportunity would present itself. Amazingly kind and generous people who live in that part of the world.
