ABOUT ME

I returned to school a couple years ago as a full-time student and just finished the college degree that I started 25 years ago. The last two years of being on campus (OSU) each day with all my 20-something classmates has been a wonderful experience and just as valuable as the degree will be, I'm sure.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still pretty new to couchsurfing and so far have only participated as a host. I really love visiting with others, one-on-one, and connecting with "strangers." I swear, there's magic in that!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was younger (before marriage and kids), I actively pursued my adventurous side, but that side was put on hold for a couple of decades while I settled down and raised my kids. This is my way of sticking my toe in and testing the waters again.

Right after high school, I moved to Germany as an Au-Pair (nanny) for two and a half years. At one time, I spoke very fluent German, though I haven't used it in years (decades).

兴趣

My interests tend toward the practical. I'm a project person and a doer. I'm really good at seeing where improvement is needed and then jumping in and making it happen -- learning how along the way.

I'm a rock and roll and blues kinda girl. My book shelf is filled with non-fiction (I LOVE field guides!), and I don't watch movies much, but when I do, they better not be violent.

I have a lot of little skills that I do at varying levels of proficiency. I'm not sure I'm qualified to teach any of the them at the "expert" level, though. But if someone wants to just get their feet wet, I can probably provide guidance in cooking (including freezing and canning), gardening, home repairs, technical writing, videography, furniture refinishing, sewing, and living well frugally.

There are SO many things that I want to learn, and I do learn from just about everybody I meet, so I'm confident if we meet through CS, I'll grow because of it.
