About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world, learn a lot, sail whenever possible, make some rad dance happen.
ABOUT ME
Working in dance production. Pretty new to DC. I like to travel, I really like to roadtrip, and I love to make my career allow me to do those things. I like learning about people & places & how different people operate in different places, and I like climbing things & biking around outside with cameras & also reading & making & cooking & fixing things. I'm just about always up for adventures of any kind, time/money permitting, and catching a beer or cuppa coffee with excellent people is one of my favorite things to do. My Spanish is kindergartner-level, and I'm only a few words into German, but I'm trying hard to learn.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Relatively few experiences with official couchsurfing, but not to seat-of-the-pants, sometimes-camping, sometimes car-sleeping, sometimes overnight-train flavors of travel.
Interests
Bikes. Crossfit. Sailing, whenever possible. Running (more like practicing running from lions than actually running from lions). Experiments in the kitchen. Arts. Taking photos. Roadtripping. Maps. Tools. Books. Finding excellent people. Drinking lots of tea. Learning all kinds of things. Also, seeing the entire Smithsonian.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Hunt for Red October, old westerns, Humphrey Bogart, tongue-in-cheek comedy. Banjos and violins, punk rock, string quartets, bagpipes, Jimmy Buffett, 90s pop/rock. Stories about people and things: lately, Salt, Maisie Dobbs, Night Circus, Pillars of the Earth.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being blown over at the Muckle Flugga lighthouse on Unst in the Shetland Islands, sailing the Gulf of Mexico and being chased by a shark, high seas in the Bay of Biscay, sunset over Lake Michigan.
Teach, Learn, Share
Trivia all day long! I know a lot about English, building things, theatre, driving places on freeways, books, and boats.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some little pieces of advice about the Capitol Hill part of DC (I'm pretty new here myself). I've got at least a mattress on the living room floor. Due to the nature of work, I'm either working a LOT or very little, so I'm really only available to host when we don't have a show happening. So if I'm around, happy to host, walk/bike around the neighborhood, cook or go out, share a glass of whatever, you name it.
