Hi there! My name is Oriol Simó, a young, openminded, motivation-driven and a bit of spontaneous guy who is just back to Coachsurfing!

I'am originally from Hospitalet de Llobregat, the city wall to wall from Barcelona. However, since 2019 I have been living abroad. First I move to a small town in Hessen, Germany, where I lived with a german family with 2 kids and a baby under an AuPair program for a complete year. Before that, I spoke anything of German. But, seitdem spreche ich Deutsch. Then I moved to Frankfurt am Main, where I started working almost remotely for a Spanish NGO in Diversity topics and funding for another year. After my incredible experience in Germany and when the pandemic allowed us to live again, I got the opportunity to work at the European Parliament as Parliamentary Assistant, the reason why I have been living in Brussels for almost another year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am back to Coachsurfing after almost 4 years because I would love to continue discovering all European countries while I learn even more languages, connect with diverse people and continue growing as a global individual. Of course, I would love to invite people to Brussels, where I live with my friend and roommate Laia in a completely modern and spacious apartment at the heart of the European Quartier.

Interests

I love politics, and I have a liberal political ideology. I'am always eager to learn more languages and discover new cultures, passionate and proud European. In addition, I love to sing, therefore, I have been singing since I have memory! In Barcelona I started in a little independent singing school, where we celebrate some summer and winter concerts, then in Germany I continued my private vocal classes. I have had musical experiences with high notes in the electronic-pop and a bit of rock styles, although noways I am getting deeper into my lower musical notes and singing, when possible, country music. Furthermore, I love cooking, so I can cook almost everything If I have the ingredients and the good instruments and appliances. I try to buy only organic and as local and regional as possible, although inflation doesn't help.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a double sofa-bed and sometimes even a double bed with private shower, because my roommate travels a lot and most of the time I am alone. I can offer blankets, pillows, normal and moisture toilet paper and towels.I love cooking so I can cook Spanish tortilla de patatas, but also asian and American dishes as well as trendy recipes. Also together!

I can offer silence, political debates, networking, space and independency and high speed internet connection!
