Hi. My name is Orlando and I live with my wife Renata in a beautiful city called Soure, one of the main touristic cities of Ilha de Marajó , the largest fluvial island in the world, best known for its fauna, flora, culture and buffaloes. By staying with us you will have the opportunity of experiencing the best of the Island which means going to the beaches, tasting exotic food and going sightseeing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My wife and I are English teachers and for this reason we need to keep practicing the language since we can't afford to go abroad again now. Moreover, we are really interested in exchanging cultural experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My wife and I teach English in two public schools from the city center and have helpt a lot of kids and teenagers learn a new language and culture. We also teach the bible on sunday mornings to people from our neighbourhood, there we also give food to them since many of them come from very poor families.

We can teach a little Portuguese and Brazilian history as well.

We really need to keep practicing our English and learn some Italian, Spanish and other languages.
