Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because you can capture the spirit on a nation without interacting with/living among local folks. If you go on common tourist path - you'll loose the spice of life. I think taking beaten path is like visiting zoo. It is safe, well-defined, but boring.

Interests

I'm interesting in data science. I think machine learning techniques become ordinary within 5-10 years. Sometimes in could be very unusual to today's us. Like you face could be recognized anythere and you don't need to bring your id with you to authenticate in a bank. But an advertisement display on the streets which could recognize you and show you ads based on your search history would be weird.

I like robotics. I've made a arduino-controlled arm in a local hackspace. It was controlled via bluetooth via android-phone. I want to learn more about how robotics can be transformed in our ordinary life, like driverless car bringing your ebay purchases to you.

I was in a university where you are pursued to do some quite serious research. So I'm still interested in academia lifestyle.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like rock music. I love the moments when I've been playing HoMM3 with friends while listening to The Doors, Queen, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd. I used to listen rap, d'n'b, ambient.

I like sci-fi movies, Marvel/DC movies. From my favorites movies I want to note Inception (yeah, lucid dreaming is real. I think you can make real Inception device combining EEG and special electronic-to-human device) and Margin Call (I usually watch it again when ruble/usd exchange rate goes to local minimum).
Plus LOTR, Idiocracy, Matrix, SW. TV shows/series: GoT, The Wire, Silicon Valley, Helix.

Books: Fiction: 1984, Animal Farm, Have Space Suit—Will Travel, The Mysterious Island. Non-fiction: 4-hour workweek, Theory of Constraints, From Zero to One.

I used to play computer games. Civ, MOO2, Heroes3, CS1.6.
