About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In February 2011 I went for my first CouchSurfing trip: I visited Stockholm. It was an amazing experience, so I decided to go to CS meeting in Poznań in the middle of March.

At the end of March I couchsurfed in Berlin with girl, who I met at the meeting.
I had a feeling that I gradually get addicted to the idea of CouchSurfing.

After visiting in September Vienna and Bratislava I can already write:
I AM addicted to CouchSurfing.
And it makes me happy!

Interests

Learning foreign languages and Scandinavia. That's why I' m studying Swedish language, history and culture at the university (Hej!)
I'm really interested in languages and I'm very curious when I meet a person who speaks a language I don't know a lot about.

Secondly, I like Shakespeare. I've been three times a volunteer at Shakespeare Festival and every time I see 'Hamlet' I'm impressed how differently directors from all around the world understand the eponymous character (I've already seen Hamlet in combat boots or suit, naked, hidden under books, Hamlet on the boat, on the table, under the table...)

I love admiring art, artistic styles I appreciate the most are Surrealism (Salvador Dali), Expressionism (Egon Schiele) and Impressionism.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music I love: Sigur Rós, Jónsi, The Knife, Radiohead, Lykke Li, Jeff Buckley, Patrick Wolf, Björk.
I have acoustic guitar that I bought impulsively. And a mandolin. I cannot play both of them (but I like singing and whistling!)

My favourite books: Rayuela by Julio Cortázar, One Hundred Years Of Solitude; Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, Crime and Punishment by Dostojevski, Master and Margarita by Bulhakov and many more.

My favourite movies: Les amours imaginairies, Dancer in the Dark, Heima, Lord of the Rings, Das Weisse Band, Adam's Apples, Donnie Darko, C.R.A.Z.Y., Le Premier jour du reste de ta vie, The Cathedral, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Noi Albinoi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running ahead through the snowy field in the winter night, while the moon was so bright that I could clearly see my shadow.
