À propos de moi

Hi! I'm a playful, ambitious, and grateful man who values connection, learning, comedy, facing challenges, and exploring the unknown both physically and mentally. I'm currently travelling to expand my world views and to more deeply understand myself as I relate to others and the world.

The easiest way to get a sense of who I am is by watching some of the silly videos of me on my Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/oscarunnatural/ .I have compilation videos for each city I visited on my 2016 cross country motorcycle adventure as well as an episodic segment on gratitude.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I am currently living my dream of traveling across the world. I started in 2016 by traveling across the US by way of motorcycle and in 2017 I plan on backpacking through northern Europe and Southeast Asia. In the spirit of exploration I want to connect and share with as many people as possible along the way. Hotels feel like something done on a vacation and I want my journey to be filled with growth and excitement. I love the idea of sharing space and ideas with people from radically different backgrounds.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

While I enjoy many different genres of music, I'm currently listening to a lot of house music and video game soundtracks. The house music gets me pumped up and excited, while the video game music reminds me of when I was a kid enjoying virtual adventures that share many similarities to the real-life adventure I'm currently on.

I absolutely love movies and especially watching films in theaters. Some of my favorites include: Rocky, Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Superman 1 and 2(Christopher Reeves), Terminator 2(probably the reason I ride a motorcycle), and many, many others.

My favorite genre of book has been "self help" lately. I love the works of Tony Robbins and have been generally attracted to practicality in my literature. I love the feeling of learning concepts that I can apply to enhance and transform my life.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Up until November 2015, I was a manager at a retail chain and had been in that business for 7 years. Shortly after turning 28, I realized that I had an intense desire to travel in a way that more resembles a pilgrimage and less a vacation.

I examined the trajectory of my career and determined that what I was seeking would be improbable given the time commitments required in the retail industry. I was faced with the daunting decision of pursing my hearts desire or continuing on a path in which I felt confident, capable, valued, respected, and comfortable.

Within a week I set a date to quit my job and travel the world. I didn't know how I would accomplish this, but I wasn't willing to tolerate growing old and never having been on a true adventure.

After quitting my job, I proceeded to run into countless obstacles in preparation for my journey including teaching myself how to rebuild the motorcycle that now carries me. The preparation alone has been the most terrifying, enlivening and rewarding experience of my life, and when I'm sitting on Dorothy(my bike) riding towards a place I've never been to I am privileged to know and feel that I am making the most out of life :).

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

There are few things I enjoy more than connecting with others. Conversation is my favorite activity when it comes to hosts. I also enjoy cooking simple meals for others.

I do my best to enjoy my time with others as best as I possibly can and, thankfully, that focus has led me to many wonderful experiences with people I care about very much.
