CURRENT MISSION

I have come to Chile to somehow complete myself... to cure myself of my linguistic handicap and come to understand something of the mythical homeland of my father and the reason I have always been a little different from the people around me.

ABOUT ME

I have taught English abroad for seven years or so, but this year I'm determined to pursue art. So I've left my full-time job at a university and I'm spending my last few months here in Chile to paint and to take salsa and bachata classes. Not a bad way to spend your days ;)

Just a side note: I attend dance classes most days of the week (salsa and bachata), so if you're interested in going with me to one of the classes, let me know!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like the rest of the Couchsurfing community, I just like to meet people. Now that I find myself in this house with so much space, I can't imagine a more interesting advantage than the opportunity to help some travelers on their way.

Interests

My interests are painting, music (playing guitar badly while I sing), cooking, and the creative life in general. I'm learning salsa and bachata dancing, slowly but surely.

I find that many couchsurfers are vegetarian or vegan, and I'm always happy to cook and share with them.

Read a poem at the legendary Nuyorican Poet's Café in New York.
Did a painting for Iggy Pop... I didn't get to meet him but it was a super intense and fun project and I got it TO him.
