Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Oshando. I'm a simple guy and it doesn't take much for me to be happy. In fact, I'm usually smiling. :) I love traveling, cooking, reading, photography, cycling, hiking and so many other things. Getting lost in new places, learning new things and meeting new people are some things I am overly excited about. There's just always something new to learn or try and I'm after those experiences.
I love challenging myself and setting big goals. This energy I share with whosoever I meet. I'm a good listener but I also love talking. My default is just to listen and respond accordingly. I love a good conversation and I'm usually quite invested in whatever the topic might be. It gives me an opportunity to learn or embrace something new.
I'm currently pursuing my masters in Computer Science in Germany. I like technology and what it's able to do. The nerdy side of me would include some programming and project management. I'm more driven by what technology can do to make the world better and that's what I often spend my time doing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people from the various places I plan to visit. I've visited a few countries before joining CS and I've discovered that meeting locals always makes the experience even better. So this is my way of getting to meet such persons. Also, I love learning about different cultures so I like the experience of getting to know someone is my domain as well. Giving back is important to me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Classical, some of the current songs, religious, old hits... I love music in general. Each genre tends to have something unique to offer.
Movies: I watch them occasionally but don't ask me about the names or the plot.
Books: Too many to list. I love reading. It's my way of escaping and keeping my mind sharp. Typically I try to read at least one book each month.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked up an active volcano (Cotopaxi) in Ecuador. This was in November 2016 and the Volcano had erupted the previous year in August!
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn about different cultures, world views and approaches to life. Learn about different interests and fields.
I can teach a few things in cooking, getting creative by just using everyday things and maybe a few things about technology. I'm always willing to share some of my life stories and how they have helped me to be the person I am today.
Oh and let's cook together and take some photos!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share some of my experiences from travelling, pictures and videos I've captured and to even talk about my homeland, Jamaica! I can also share what motivated me to travel, often alone (I didn't know that many travellers back then) and talk about anything. I have relatively good knowledge of quite a few things so I can share what I know.
