Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I wanted to make that map as orange as Donald Trump's face, but now they have changed it to blue :(

On a more serious note, before I started hosting and resumed surfing in 2019, I had used Couchsurfing only twice in my life as a guest, with my then-girlfriend on our month-long trip from Vancouver all the way south and east to Miami Beach back in 2013. We were happy to find free refuge in Vancouver and Seattle. Sadly, all the credit for our great performance as guests went to her in the form of positive references as we used her profile to seek shelter.

Currently, I am renting an apartment in the center of the beautiful city of Gdańsk, which ranks quite high on the list of the top European tourist destinations. So there was a time to receive good and now it is time to do good.

Through hosting and surfing I am meeting some amazing people whom I am now looking forward to respectively visiting or hosting.

Interessen

Frankly, travelling, music, modernist architecture like streamline moderne and constructivism, aviation, languages, history and politics would pretty much sum it up.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Radiohead is my favourite band, Pulp Fiction is the favourite film and Animal Farm I would consider a good read. I do not read much fiction though.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Whenever I go to a wine-producing land (you will be surprised, but even Poland qualifies), I bring a bottle of local wine home. If you come from one or have visited one en route, please make me happy. It does not necessarily have to be a good wine. In fact, it may be a real piece of crap, but I will appreciate it anyways. You see, I just want to taste local wine from as many parts of the globe as possible.
