Working on a year-long journey with my family to get to know the United States

ABOUT ME

I've travelled to over 40 countries. It is best when I can connect with someone who is native to that country.

Since having a family there has been MUCH LESS travel, but we traveled for 6 months around the United States visiting all 48 contiguous states.

PHILOSOPHY

The universe is an amazing place and the earth, our human dwelling, is an incredibly complex thing. Exploring life and our place in it is thrilling. Knowing that there is an ultimate plan behind it all gives me hope and keeps me going.

We've had several people stay in our guest house. I haven't used the service myself although I tried a few times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We didn't see much of the people we hosted since we have a separate guest house for them.

Interests

History, the arts, genealogy, Jesus. I tend to love to have a research project where I really dig in and learn about some particular thing. For 2014 our community will be celebrating Charles Dickens so I'm currently watching all the film and TV versions of his work and reading about his life and times.

Music, Movies, and Books

I always have a book of some kind - usually non-fiction that I'm reading through.

I really enjoy historical movies. T.V. shows that we watch are: Downtown Abbey, Modern Family, Glee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Viewing sunset from Sugarloaf in Rio de Janero. Driving along the Antrim Coast in Ireland. Helecopter ride over the Grand Canyon. Skydiving. Diving on the Great Barrier Reef.
