Resumen
Sobre mí
I'm Ossi, a primate who calls Helsinki home for the time being. I rarely say no if something interesting comes up and my impulsive decisions have usually led into good outcomes so impulsiveness has become a feature I really cherish.
I'm a very laid back person, I try to minimize stress. An important thing for me is to, instead of living a life of routines, is to be able keep my eyes open and constantly think of new ways to live and things to do.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
It has been a wonderful experience to see people welcoming perfect strangers like us to their homes without any preconditions.
Intereses
I love trying out new activities. Right now my activity of choice is climbing and if I'm traveling, I absolutely love to snorkel and go trekking when I'm traveling. Overall I tend to find a beauty and tranquility in nature that I find nowhere else and my to-do-list includes several long distance hikes.
Aside from trying and introducing other people to new activities, it's always interesting to just sit down, kick back and have a chat with people. The more different from you the person your talking to is, the more likely you are of learning something new.

Algo increíble que he hecho
Me, a friend of mine and a friend of his were hiking on the appalachian trail in 2012 and one of our goals for the hike was to see the mating ritual of a certain species of fireflies. This phenomenon happens in two locations in the world, somewhere in Malaysian jungles and in a few places in the Great Smoky mountains, once each year for about two weeks. Because of the record warm spring the ritual started earlier than normal and we had already given up hope that we would see the fireflies. When we hitchhiked back to the trail after stocking up on food we were picked up by a park ranger. While chatting with him we told him that we missed the firefly showdown and that we were rather disappointed. He, however, knew one place where the fireflies were still going strong and took us there. The place was far away from the trail and we decided that we'll see the fireflies and after they're gone sometime after midnight we will hike through the night to the closest shelter which was 15 miles away. At around 8 pm the fireflies started waking up, flashing here and there. Little by little more fireflies gathered and the flashing intensified. After about an hour after the first fireflies woke the phenomena that we came to see started. The fireflies started synchronizing. At first the synchronization was weak, a few simultaneous flashes here and there, but as the night became darker, and as more and more fireflies gathered up to the same place, the whole swarm of fireflies, thousands of them, started to flash in synchrony. We sat there, just the three of us, in complete silence, watching as the air around us flashed repeatedly in synchrony. Then, all of a sudden, we saw three people approaching us. It was the park ranger who picked us up and two of his friends. Instead of walking 15 miles to a shelter, the park ranger invited us to his mountain cabin, we spent the night there and he drove us to the trail the next morning.
