I grew up near Berlin in Germany, moved to London after high school and relocated to Australia a few years later where I have enjoyed life ever since. I have recently quit my job after working for the same company for most of my career and have discovered that there is so much more to learn and explore! I am taking a year off to travel and widen my horizons.

I love meeting new people and sharing experiences, knowledge and views of the world, learning about different cultures and ways of living.
I'm new to couchsurfing however I have unofficially hosted many friends, friends of friends and random backpackers over the years and realised how eye opening and energizing it is.

I love keeping active with running, indoor climbing, yoga, pilates or kayaking. I also enjoy playing piano to unwind (I'm self taught and far from a pianist but it brings me peace).

Some of my favourite bands and musicians are Foo Fighters, Crowded House, Lionel Richie, Tash Sultana and I'm always watching new musicians on stage.
One of my favourite movies is Good bye Lenin, reminds me of growing up in East Germany.
I very much enjoyed the book Cafe at the end of the world by John Strelecky.

Recently I have been lucky to witness a turtle giving birth and baby turtle hatching from its nest both at the same time on a beach in Costa Rica. I climbed a 4000m volcano to watch the neighbouring volcano spitting out lava every 5 minutes. Breathtaking!
