About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to travel the entire world.

ABOUT ME

First, I am a very energetic person. I play all kinds of sports, and I don't just say this, but I play all these on a regular basis, or at least a few times a year: basketball, football, futbol, ping pong, badminton, snowboard, rollerblade, frisbee, softball, volleyball, mountain bike, hike, kayak.

I am very outdoorsy, as you can see from my acitivies above. I love being in nature, hence studying primates in the rainforests of Costa Rica. I love places that receive snow in the winter, but places where you can play in the snow, such as Oregon or Colorado so I can snowboard. I want to snowshoe with my parents who just moved to Bend, OR and enjoy the constant call of the outdoors on a daily basis.

I am very passionate about animals, and protecting them, especially primates. I volunteer at the Columbus Zoo where I educate the public on the zoos animals on a regular basis. I am a vegetarian, don't smoke, used to drink more, now prefer to drink wine more than anything. I am a fairly healthy eater.

Usually spend my non-work time working out or playing one of the above mentioned sports. I enjoy hanging with my friends at the local taphouse or brewery.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to have fun. Many people don't like that, but I would prefer to be 80 and feel like I'm 50 then be 80 and act 80 b/c you are "supposed" to. Being serious or angry all the time is not the way to have fun. I tend to go with the flow of things and let things fall into place, worked pretty well so far.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During my visit to Switzerland, my friend and I crashed on a mutual friends floor for 10 days. A very fun and positive experience. Obviously it wasn't a random person, but still the same type of experience. We all got along, cooked, traveled, and just hung out together. Its my favorite way to travel, hotels can be nice, but often too uptight and can't feel like you can relax like you can in a home-like setting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Dance music - EDM, old school rap, pop music

Movies: Mafia movies, Denzel movies, Daniel Day Lewis movies.

Books: Life of Pi. Ishmael. My Ishmael. Anything by Daniel Quinn. Books related to Primates and conservation. The Lord of the Rings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had wild monkeys in the rain forest walk within 6 inches of me as if I wasn't there. Would only be topped by a gorilla or bonobo.

Teach, Learn, Share

In staying with our friend of Switzerland, he didn't ask for money, but we helped pay for gas for his car for all the driving he did, and bought him a little thankyou gift. The least you can do for tons of savings in hotel/hostel fees.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm respectful, clean, and thankful for a place to stay. Can supply the beer too!!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Côte d'Ivoire, England, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
