Overview
About Me
I enjoy backpacking, climbing, running, and playing guitar. Currently training for my 4th marathon in Portland. My wife, Anna Killmeier (also on CS) and I just moved to Corvallis so we're new to Oregon. We like to explore somewhere new each weekend. I also work from home so I'm flexible with hosting and showing you around.
Very goal-oriented and enjoy meeting others who inspire and are doing good in the world - Couchsurfing has been a gift.
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self." - Ernest Hemingway
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There's so much goodness in the world - I'm not going to live it in a bubble.
Interests
I have lots of interests - I would say my passion is playing guitar. I also enjoy hiking and cooking. I would like to learn how to fly-fish.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Radiohead, Neil Young, John Prine
Favorite Movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Currently reading: For Whom the Bell Tolls, Meditations, Slaughterhouse 5
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I swam through shark-infested waters to an island off the coast of St. Lucia for a conch shell.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to play guitar, bass, mandolin, and some ukelele. I prefer finger-picking and folk styles but can play anything.
I can teach you about backpacking, camping, and climbing. I know how to tie many knots and their uses.
I can teach you how to make a killer Bloody Mary (pun intended).
I can teach you the pros and cons of Southern culture and tradition. We are a diverse bunch.
I want to learn about your culture and what you like to cook. I'm always wanting to become a better musician so jam sessions are my thing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Insight and ridiculous humor.
