About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn how to be a solo traveler who can be his own travel partner and meet new amazing people along the way.

ABOUT ME

My friends tell me I make people instantly comfortable when they first meet me. I like listening to people's stories and troubles. I'd probably be a good old-timey bartender.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too important to take so seriously...when there is nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I've only been a couch surfer. I haven't lived anywhere where I've been able to host. One day in the future I hope to pay all the kindness I've received forward.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have mostly only stayed with couchsurfer hosts who were already friends in real life. I'm excited to use this system how it was intended to be.

Interests

I have become nerdier with age. I love movies...all of them. In theory I love reading, but I consume more audiobooks and comics than actual books. I enjoy the outdoors for playing, camping, running, walking, biking and picnicking. I like socially experimenting with myself to see how things make me feel. I'm in search of the perfect pub. My current mini-goals include learning how to play the harmonica, and learning how to dance salsa.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Crime & Punishment, Love in the Time of Cholera, Ender's Game, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, World War Z, Y: The Last Man, The Walking Dead, Scott Pilgrim, and many more...

Movies: I'm a huge film fan. Some of my favorites incldude: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Before Sunrise/Sunset, Moulin Rouge, Children of Men, The Fall, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Shaun of the Dead, Garden State, 500 Days of Summer, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, In the Mood for Love, Old Boy, Serenity, Sunshine, Slither, Memento, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Music: To name a few, Ozma, Stars, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, The Decemberists, Los Campesinos, Sigur Ros, Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse, Bloc Party, Panic At The Disco, The Format

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a pretty cynical, but also extremely positive, individual. It's usually the quiet moments that really leave me awestruck. Meeting someone, and almost immediately crushing on them...and eventually realizing nothing will happen is probably what leaves me the most surprised.

More typically: biking around Tuscany and realizing it's my job to do it and that I'm getting paid is a wonderful feeling.
