About Me

Telling stories with soul through photography and film. Instagram - @otherworld.ly

Kia ora! I'm a kiwi girl who loves a good coffee, conversation, wildlife, films, geography, culture and spirituality. I've have been lucky enough to travel the world since 2014, first out of love and now for work.

Travel promotes empathy, compassion, connection and self development like nothing else I've experienced; and reveals to us that we're fundamentally the same. Far more similar than we are different.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Everyone I've met on couchsurfing has been generous, kind, interesting and just all-round amazing humans! I've been hosted by some wonderful people in the past and would love to return the favour one day when I'm settled into a place for a long enough period.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Naked and Famous, Passion Pit, Tash Sultana, Frank Ocean, Purity Ring, Porter Robinson, ODEZSA. I love indietronica, lofi, downtempo, chillwave and world music.

Film: 12 Angry Men, Eighth Grade, Good Will Hunting, Wadjda, Selma, Schindler's List, Rosemary's Baby, The Before series, The Virgin Suicides, Boyhood, Fantastic Mr. Fox.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Mt. Sinai in Egypt. Being caught up in a Cairo riot. Seeing auroras in northern Canada. Seeing Las Pozas (Edward James' surrealist village) in Xilitla, Mexico. Photographing the Bhaktapur ruins and locals clearing debris in Kathmandu, Nepal. Photographing sadhus in Varanasi, India and having them offer to pose naked for us, only to witness him twist his d*ck through a metal pole as part of his practice.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you/give you:

How to photograph, how to Photoshop, how to colour grade photos/films. How to ride a horse. How to make the best earl grey tea.

Please show/teach me:

How to cook yummy recipes you like. About your culture. The best coffee spots around! Hole in the wall, underground eateries! Healthy/organic/raw/vegan eats and juiceries. Your photography and storytelling secrets.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter, spontaneous adventures, really strange conversations, even stranger facts about stuff I know when I don't even remember vital stuff like the whereabouts of my credit cards, etc.
