About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Gain a more well rounded perspective of the world and meet some interesting people along the way!

Interests

I have many interests in life and this is one of the greatest reasons for my curiosity about different places in the world. Needless to say, travel is a great interest of mine. I also have a serious love for music and spend alot of time playing guitar, finding new music, and listening to classics. I find politics very interesting as well, which has caused me to study politics in university (although I try not to be judgmental of other peoples political views and I enjoy hearing the political perspectives of others). I am also very interested in sports, and although as a Canadian I have a natural love for hockey I really like to learn about popular sports in other cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: anything by Martin Scorcese, Star Wars, Saving Private Ryan

Music: music is pretty much my favourite thing in the world, because of this I try to listen to a wide range of music, but I still have my favourites. I'm big on rock music, thanks to a love for playing guitar I listen to alot of older rock from the 60's and 70's, I'm also big on alternative from the 90's, and nowadays I listen to alot of current alternative such as kings of leon, cage the elephant, silversun pickups, etc. If you like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mayer, or the Beatles, I'm sure we will get along just great.

Books: I try to read as much as I can, although I almost always read only non fiction. I'm big on biographies, especially of musicians and political figures, but I also really like to read travel/adventure stuff, such as anything by John Krakauer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the more memorable things I've done in my life are:

-drinking champagne under the Eiffel Tower at midnight
-ziplining through the jungle in Mexico
-seeing Mont Blanc from one of it's highest peaks

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy the idea of teaching and learning between surfers and I will try to do both of these to my best abilities while using this method of travel. In terms of teaching, 21 years of living in Ottawa has given me a great knowledge of the city and I will try to fully educate you on the city that I've always called home if you surf my couch. I will also try to teach you as much as possible about Canada if you have never visited before, since, although we do draw some cultural aspects from the culture of the United States, we certainly do have a unique culoture that I would like to teach anybody about. In terms of learning, well as I said before I am easily interested in things, so if you have anything to teach me about your region of the world and the culture it posesses, I will gladly listen.
