ABOUT ME

Here's a guy who dreams about travel as much as he can. Work needs to be done to survive, but I like to use as much spare time as I can to go out and about; let's pack and go explore! I like to explore places that are not that interesting to anyone else, and I like to explore other people too. Defining all varieties could be an art!
If I were born in the stone age, I would be the tribe's story teller. I just love to tell others about the history of places, the origin of people, and the beauty of things. So if you're looking for a tourguide or host in the pub, I'm your man.

PHILOSOPHY

Jacques Delille wrote: Ce qui nous plaît le mieux dans toute la nature, ce n'est pas ce qu'on voit, c'est ce qu'on se figure! I do agree with him. There is a story behind all places, all people have their personal histories. What I as observer think of it (and what my mind makes of it) is solely mine. Observe it, share it, and then dream on again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no couchsurfing experience yet. Of course I have stayed over quite some times on my friends' couches, so there is a beginning. Let's see what new opportunities this website will bring!

Interests

FIlms, music and simple mind killing TV nights can be nice sometimes, but I'd rather go out and about! I love to cycle, go for a city safari or go for a stroll every now and then. In the evening, beer of coffee makes my day, especially when accompanied by a game of Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit or so.

Music, Movies, and Books

Almodovar, Tarantino, Lynch, Van Trier, Kubrick and Ozon are my favorite directors. Besides their work, I generally enjoy adventure films (especially quests!), classic horrors, psycho dramas and black comedy.

Every moment has it's music. I should once take the time to bring some logical order is all the different styles of music that can be found on my iPod.

Except for the newspaper and travel guides and such, I'm not so much of a reader. My mind is just easily distracted.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There's loads of tuff to tell in this department. And still so much to look forward to too! Some of the best experiences were: hitchhiking to Venice, explore the Ardennes by kayak, interrailing through the Balkans, sleeping of a hotel roof in Istanbul, driving around Lake IJssel and visit all the silly old fashioned tourist villages, moving to the UK, doing a scooter safari in Istria, support the divers on Mostar's Stari Most.
