About Me

Creativity. Independence. Sexuality.

I am friendly and outgoing, with interests including cheese-making, camping, homebrewing, and playing music with other people. I'm queer and like books and tea and beer and coffee and bikes.

Over the past five years or so, I have worked as a Spanish<>English interpreter, in community and medical settings, as a co-manager and Volunteer Coordinator at a small community-owned and operated food co-op in Riverwest, and tended bar at my family's meadery (Bos Meadery, out of Madison). Currently I am gestating a young human (coming Feb 2020) and planning a homebirth, while living with my husband and family in Madison, Wisconsin.

I play violin, sing, and whistle in a couple of Milwaukee-based bands (Ruth B8r Ginsburg, Sweet Sheiks).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in the midwest, Peru, Chile, the US, and Argentina.

I moved to Riverwest in Milwaukee summer 2015, where I share an apartment with two other women. We have a have couch in the living room, where guests can stay.

Interests

Food, music, languages, the outdoors, biking.

My husband and I are expecting a little baby in February 2020!

I'm a devoted Ashtanga yoga practitioner.

I'm interested in and committed to social justice, particularly related to immigrant and racial justice in the United States and the myriad of connected issues. I spent all of 2013 and May-July 2014 in Valparaíso, Chile, and now feel an even stronger pull from Latin América.

Small-scale community organizer and aspiring sex educator.

Meeting new people and becoming familiar with new places is one of my favorite things.

I seek out music, food, trails!

Music, Movies, and Books

Margaret Atwood, Ivan Coyote, Audre Lorde, Djuna Barnes, Jeanette Winterson, Philip K Dick, and more and more and more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Occupying the capitol building in my city, Madison, during 2011 to protest our corrupt governor's agenda was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. Seeing that many people (many thousands) come together, despite the cold and snow, to stand up for workers' rights and dignity was truly inspiring.

-Hiking up a mountain near Obertraün, Austria, and seeing a glacier!

-Seeing my mom give birth to my little sister, Maya, in our home, when I was 7 years old. (I cut the chord).
