Sobre mí

A bit of a lost traveler, roaming the roads of the world, sleeping on beaches, in forests, on mountains, or in cozy abandoned buildings when I can. I'm driven by those cliche big mysteries of life/the universe, and playing with all the animals I find.

I'm an introvert, and have a much better time sitting in silent contemplation on a beach, on a cliff, or in the window of some long dead building than partying it up at "the place to be." The off-chance I meet someone the same, I LOVE good conversations on strange things. That can be morbid humor to the nature or reality.

I dream of one day living in a hobbit house in a deep dark forest, where I randomly follow a wizard out into the world, to return years later with stories, dwarven gold, and as much wisdom as I can pack in this little head.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

To be honest, these past few years I have questioned why i'm here. The whole idea seems to be becoming more mainstream, which while good in theory, seems to be changing the core of what this is. People have to mass-message to get maybe one reply, hosts are becoming more cynical and nit-picky about who they're accepting, and it just seems to be straying from what it was.

That being said, I originally joined to meet locals in a deeper way than I would at a hostel or simply passing through a city or town (though I tend to avoid the bigger concrete jungles these days).

Algo increíble que he hecho

Hm... Joined the military, which is an entire, crazy world in itself.

I hitchhiked my way through Southern England to the northern tip of Scotland, and then hitched pretty much all of Norways' coast (the best experience of my Euro trip). I went south through Sweden, then over to Poland. From there I headed to southern Germany and up to Berlin. Finally I visited Amsterdam. It was a two month trip, and was definitely one of the greatest things I have ever done.

More recently I spent two years hitchhiking, volunteering, free camping, and dumpster diving my way around Europe and North Africa. I hitched a ride on a seemingly doomed yacht through the Mediterranean, and ended up in the middle of a ghost town on the edge of the Sahara during Ramadan.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Poking a hole in your comfort bubble can be the best thing you could ever do. Pushing your boundaries and being happier and successful because of it has, for me, brought amazing adventures and some of the happiest/crazy times in my life thus far.

Most "Skills" I have are military oriented, but apparently i'm a good listener and good with advice. I have basic outdoor survival skills.
