About Me
Hi there!
I'm a student from Australia who's taken a semester off uni to travel around America and Europe! This is my first time in the United States, and first time travelling around Europe by myself, and I'm super keen for the whole trip. (I do really miss my cat though - see pictures)
I love meeting new people and having a chat over a coffee, or a beer or two. I like to think I am friendly and forthcoming, but can respect people's space and privacy when I am in their house, will clean up after myself and everything else to make sure that we both have the best experience possible!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel on a budget, but also to see cities through the perspective of a local, not just as a tourist. I also want to meet lots of interesting people from across the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a whole bunch of music - back home I'm a devoted triple j listener. Triple j is a youth-focused radio station that plays a bunch of indie/alternative music, with a focus on Australian music. I enjoy alt-pop/rock, hip hop, well as more classic pop/rock (like 80s vibes), and electronic/dance stuff. I'd struggle to pick a favourite artist, but I'd probably name the Arctic Monkeys, Ball Park Music, and Sticky Fingers.
In terms of TV/movies - I'm a big fan of sci-fi/fantasy. I love Game of Thrones, Lord of The Rings, Doctor Who, that sort of thing. I'm also a big (nerd) fan of political drama like the West Wing and House of Cards. I'm also partial to shitty horror movies (see: Troll 2 - I've got a whole folder on my laptop if you're partial to this hahaha).
I would struggle to pick a favourite book but I'm reading The God of Small Things by Arundathi Roy at the moment, and I love it. As a kid I was a massive fan of the Harry Potter books, and I'm still pretty partial to them, so maybe they're my favourite.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Over the winter I interned on Capitol Hill in Washington DC for two months! It was as a part of a program with 13 other Australians, and it was the most amazing and interesting experience of my life (and a dream come true for me, an enormous nerd).
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to chat to you about Australia, or what I do at uni or work, or any other questions you have. I love a chat, so I'd be happy to share my experiences with you!
