Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm willing to offer my couch to people who share the same interests with me and who are curious to know more about Bucharest and Romania.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It was this cold December evening, when I saw this guy standing in the middle of the Metro station. There was something fascinating about him and I felt like I wanted to say hi and offer my help. We got in the same metro car and soon started talking to each other. He was on a trip to India and he was looking for a hostel in Bucharest as he couldn't find a host for the night. Instead, I offered him "my couch". René is one of the greatest persons I have ever met. This experience changed me and my life and it determined me to join CouchSurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
I listen to American folk music, especially Bob Dylan. Then I also know and enjoy many french artists, old and new.
I listen to classic rock, psychedelic, singer/songwriter stuff (The Doors, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Devendra Banhart, Jefferson Airplane). Then there's some place left for alternative/indie stuff.
Pretty often I get stuck on listening for days only to classical music.
BOOKS:
I'm having a good time reading Eugène Ionesco's absurd theatre plays. I find E. Cioran challenging. I liked Anatole France's satire in Penguin Island, Kerouac's On The Road was a great reading experience. Tolstoy, Sartre, Kafka are among the writers I enjoyed reading. I am also interested in the philosophy of law and politics, so I try to read the essential writers.
MOVIES:
Call me a weirdo but I don't really feel comfortable watching a screen for 2 hours, therefore I prefer a theatre play to a movie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not amazing, yet quite crazy - I once was in charge of some 10-15 children (Richie Rich kids), 13-15 years old. My mission was to take them to Disneyland near Paris. Since they thought they knew a better route than mine, I abandoned them in the middle of the Paris metro.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I have many things to learn from others instead of me teaching. For now I would appreciate some help in cooking, playing instruments, photography, arts, history etc. I always happy to share some of the knowledge I have on Romania and various other fields, I can as I am always ready to talk about my hobbies.
