Hi there! I’m Owen, a 30-year-old with roots in the UK but born and raised in the vibrant city of Amsterdam. My life is a mix of adventure, discipline, and curiosity, and I’m always looking to connect with people from all walks of life—which is why I’m here on Couchsurfing!

I have a deep passion for martial arts and have been practicing for years. When I’m not competing (yes, I still step into the ring!) or sticking to my training routine, I’m teaching self-defense classes for kids—a rewarding way to share what I love.

Professionally, I spent years in software sales, a career that allowed me to develop strong communication skills and meet fascinating people from all over. These days, I freelance occasionally, which gives me the flexibility to focus on my passions, travel, and explore new opportunities.

Outside the dojo and work, you’ll find me walking my two amazing dogs: Rosa, a lovable golden retriever mix I rescued, and Diablo, my goofy yet loyal Staffordshire. My home is as clean and welcoming as it can be with these two giants running around!

I love traveling and discovering the nuances of different cultures. I’m just as excited to share my city, stories, and experiences with you as I am to hear about yours. Whether it’s showing you Amsterdam’s hidden gems or swapping stories over a good meal, I look forward to meeting like-minded travelers!
