About Me
CURRENT MISSION
looking out for those beautiful vistas on the "summer of exellence 2011"!
ABOUT ME
I'm a 22 year old fine-arts student from Montreal. I'm a pretty easy-going guy. Fairly athletic too? I'm currently taking some kind of poorly planned European trip. I would've have planned it out better but hey, you know, that's how it goes sometimes!
so anyways, I'm here for four months. I've got a handful of places to stay right now but nothing near enough to fill up the time I'm going to be staying here. I'm also fairly low on cash and suprisingly enough, most hostels are somewhat out of my price-range at the moment. I should be getting my irish passport soon though so I'd love to work a few odd jobs real quick to get my hands on a bit of cash! I'm just sayin'! haha.
PHILOSOPHY
I think the best way to fully understand my personal philosophy is to watch a whole lot of star trek. Seriously though!I mean, to me, star trek is full of positive role models; all the main characters on that show seem to have their values in the right place! That whole series is pretty much based on doing the right thing and being "good". So like, you know, friendship, loyalty, duty, selflessness and just being an overall good person is where it's at.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I'm going to be needing a place to stay at over anything but hey! If this turns out to be a good experience I probably wouldn't mind hosting once I'm back home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
none so far. I'm really hoping to change that soon as I'll be needing a place to stay in the coming weeks for sure.
Interests
I'm a huge sucker for electronic music and analog synths and have managed to build up a pretty decent collection of them in the past few years! Other than that I've also been unicycling since I was 14. I was more into doing tricks and "extreme" stuff like grinding handrails and stuff back then but nowadays I mostly commute on my cocker. (that's what you call that specific type of unicycle. It has a 36" wheel so it goes a lot faster and you can cover more ground on it. It's pretty much as handy as a bike if you're not coasting too often!)

Music, Movies, and Books
Well, it shouldn't come as a surprise that star trek is going to show up somewhere on my list of favorite shows/movies but yeah, I'm a big fan of science fiction in general. I was going to try to justify my liking of sci-fi so as to not leave people thinking I'm some sort of hyper-geek but yo! you'll just have to take my word for it.
off the top of my head though:
Music: Squarepusher, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares, LCD soundsystem, any sort of 80s space-disco, anything with vocoders, 808s 909s or breakbeats really. Oh, and I just realized that I completely forgot to mention how much I like that sequencer-based Berlin School stuff. ooooh man!
Movies: 2001: Space Odyssey, Solaris (1972), The Holy Mountain, Re-Animator, From Beyond, Enter The Void, Basically I love any sort of serious science-fiction movie and also loooove those super wild 80s horror sort of things you know, the ones with the really wacky special effects.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, I thought I had an out of body experience this one time but I didn't really.
Hmmm, nothing's really jumping out at me right now but I was just thinking earlier of how dope it was this one time I caught a huge kingsnake from a canoe totally crocodile hunter style when I was 16.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to ride a unicycle! I can teach you some french! I can, I dunno, teach you a few things about sound-recording and synthesizers? surely there's more things...
